Rozhkov historical Research centre

About The Centre

The Rozhkov Historical Research Centre (RHRC) is an independent, not-for-profit research organisation. It was founded by Dr John Gonzalez in 2005 to encourage and develop our understanding of history through research, publication, discussion and the dissemination of ideas. It also attempts to record the past, by collecting, preserving and increasing access to historical documents, records and resources that are extremely difficult to obtain. The RHRC has a large collection of material on N.A. Rozhkov, including rare copies of archival documents, and a substantial collection of Russian history books, especially covering the revolutionary period.

While the RHRC's focus is the history of revolutionary Russia from the point of view of forgotten individuals and groups, it also generally researches many other subjects and issues in European and Australian history.

Dr John Gonzalez is the Director of the Rozhkov Historical Research Centre in New South Wales, Australia. He has been studying and translating the work of N.A. Rozhkov for over twenty-five years and is a leading authority on Russian historiography. He has written numerous articles and has presented conference and seminar papers on Russian, European and Australian history. In 2011 he became a member of the editorial board of the Bulletin of the Moscow State Regional University's History and Politics Series.

Dr Gonzalez is the author of Rozhkov's biography entitled An Intellectual Biography of N.A.Rozhkov (1868-1927). Life In A Bell Jar which is NOW AVAILABLE in all major bookstores or at BRILL PUBLISHERS
